Arusha

Arusha Region, in northeastern Tanzania around Mount Meru and near Kilimanjaro, is an Arabica coffee-growing area, cultivated on the foothills and slopes of Mount Meru at roughly 1,250–1,400 meters elevation. The Tanzania Coffee Board names Arusha among the country’s leading Arabica-producing regions alongside Kilimanjaro, Mbeya, Songwe, and Ruvuma. As with all Tanzanian coffee not sold under a licensed direct-export arrangement, Arusha’s crop is channeled through the Moshi Coffee Exchange auction before export. Arusha town is also a logistics and tourism hub for northern Tanzania, supporting smallholder access to inputs and buyers.
