Zanzibar Revenue Authority

Zanzibar's own revenue body, established under the ZRA Act No. 11 of 2022 (repealing the earlier Zanzibar Revenue Board Act of 1996). Its role is domestic taxation, including taxation of goods moving from Mainland Tanzania into Zanzibar. International export customs clearance for Zanzibar-origin cargo is handled through the national TANCIS system operated by the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA), since customs is a Union-level (EAC Customs Management Act 2004) function rather than a Zanzibar-devolved one.
