Statutory regulator for cereals and other produce (including maize, rice, sesame, wheat, millet and sorghum), established under the Food Security Act, Cap. 249, implementing the Cereals and Other Produce Act, 2009 (No. 19 of 2009). Headquartered in Dodoma. Registers value-chain actors (buyers, sellers, processors, exporters, transporters) and issues import/export permits for these crops, and periodically runs nationwide stock assessments tied to food-security planning that determine when and how many new export permits are issued — most recently a maize/rice assessment beginning May 2025.
