Lindi

Lindi Region, immediately north of Mtwara on Tanzania’s southeastern coast, is the country’s second-largest cashew-producing region. In Cashewnut Board of Tanzania 2025/26 season auction data, Lindi sold roughly 140,000 tonnes of raw cashew nuts, about 32% of the combined Mtwara/Lindi/Ruvuma/Coast total. Together, Mtwara and Lindi account for the clear majority of Tanzania’s marketed cashew crop. Cashew here is grown by smallholders and sold through the Cashewnut Board’s regulated auction system, and Lindi’s coastal position gives it separate port access for export.
