Freight, Clearing & Testing Service Directory

A directory of the service categories exporters actually need — freight forwarding/clearing agents, testing and certification bodies, and the industry association that represents them. We’re seeding this from the Tanzania Freight Forwarders Association (TAFFA), a real, established association, rather than fabricating a supplier list.

TAFFA — Tanzania Freight Forwarders Association — Industry association since 1979Represents over 1,000 member clearing and forwarding firms. Every exporter is legally required to work through a licensed Clearing and Forwarding Agent (CFA) for TANCIS customs declarations — TAFFA’s member directory is the starting point for finding one. We link to TAFFA directly rather than reproducing its members list, since that list changes and TAFFA is the authoritative source for it.
Intertek — PVoC inspection — authorized for US-origin shipmentsOne of Tanzania’s authorized Pre-Shipment Verification of Conformity inspectors, and as of the March 2025 inspection-zone reassignment, the sole authorized inspector for US-origin goods. SGS — PVoC inspection & Dar es Salaam testing labsOperates testing labs in Dar es Salaam involved in export inspection for specific crops including cashew and grain, alongside its PVoC inspection role for non-US-origin shipments.
Bureau Veritas — Former PVoC inspector — contract ended March 2025Listed here for completeness and to correct outdated guidance: Bureau Veritas’s TBS PVoC contract ended 1 March 2025. If a compliance document or forwarder still names Bureau Veritas as your current inspector, that information predates the reassignment.

This directory currently covers PVoC inspection and the TAFFA association layer. We plan to expand it to individual CFA/freight-forwarder listings and testing labs by named crop — each addition will be verified directly, not scraped from a secondary list.
